These few words cannot communicate the power of this effect. So, let me elaborate. At the time Osmosis was developed I was involved with an internet forum on magic. I placed a clip of an Osmosis performance on the web for other members of the forum to see. The responses to this clip on the forum were interesting. One person indicated that the trick needed to be performed at a table so coins could be dropped over the edge of the table. Another said that the trick required incredible skill to accomplish. Another commented on the difficulty of hiding a number of silver dollars in the hands. Well, each of these individuals was wrong. They were fooled. The use of that sequence of dropping the hand and snapping the coin back was so powerful no one was aware it was being utilized.
Then something else shocked me. I have mentioned Frank Tougas' name. During the development of Osmosis I consulted him to check on a few presentation issues.

After the above comments appeared in that magic forum, he made a comment about the trick. The comment was inaccurate. I realized that during this entire time he was fooled as well. He did know the basic move that was used during the routine. However, he thought I used three duplicate coins to accomplish the effect. Again, that very natural motion I had come up with remained unnoticed and unseen. Yet it was responsible for the effect produced by Osmosis. Osmosis does not require the use of three extra coins. One does not need to be seated at a table to perform it. And, it does not require great skill to perform it.
If you can get believable impossible things to happen while you perform with normal actions, you will get higher scores for your magic.
