gaffed by gluing an additional part of a card to the face of each of six cards. Half a card is glued to the face of a regular card. The glue is applied to the edge of the card. This leaves a pocket running the longest length of the card in the middle. All six cards are prepared in this way and a normal quarter is inserted into a pocket on each card before the trick begins.
The next critical item is the coins that vanish. They are normal coins but sticky tape has been applied to the underside of 5 coins. One coin does not have sticky stuff on it and it is the bottom coin of the stack. The top coin of the stack has tape on its bottom as the others, but has tape on its top also. We'll get into that in a bit. The point here is that when the coins are stacked they stick to each other and when touched on the top the entire stack will stick to your finger.
The next major item is the cylinder. It is somewhat bigger around than a quarter

so it will slide over the stack easily even if the stack is not well lined up. It is not gimmicked; however it should be of some material that can tolerate burning flash paper without itself going up in flame.
These are the major players.
The incidental props are the tray that is in the middle of the show, the ball of flash paper and a burning stick to set the flash paper aflame. My tray is a candleholder upside down. The burning stick is a burning stick of incense.
Basics of the Routine Here is an overview of how the routine proceeds. The cards are prepared by inserting the normal coins into them. The coins with double-sided tape are placed on the table in full view. There is a small glass disk in the middle of the table. The cylinder and ball of flash paper are by the disk on your side of it. The cards are held in the left hand in dealing position.
